Have you ever asked yourself the question, “What is my passion in life?”
Why do you do what you do?
If you could do anything in the world, without having to worry about money (for awhile, at least), what would you do?
Key to Finding Your Passion in Life
Today I’ll share with you the key to discovering your passion in life. One of the most common questions I see when reading about discovering passion in life, is the one I just presented…
What would you do if you had all the money you could ever need?
In fact, when I was searching for my passion in life, I asked myself this very same question.
The trouble with this is, in all honesty…
I’d lie on a beach in Fiji and drink Mojitos.
At least for awhile.
It didn’t take me long to discover I needed to be asking a better question.
A Better Question for Discovering Your Passion in Life
A better question to ask yourself in discovering your passion in life, or your purpose in life, is this:
What would I do if I had three million dollars?
It’s not likely that three million is enough for you to live the rest of your days without financial stress, so this clears the mind a bit to offer you more options than, “drinking mojitos in Fiji.”
Once I Asked Myself that Question, I Began to Gain Some Traction
If you’re looking for some clarity in finding your passion in life, I recommend you start with that question and go from there.
Once I asked myself this question, it became more clear to me that lying in the beach in Fiji day in and day out would probably drive me zonkers with boredom.
My suggestion? Ask yourself the question, and then start jotting down some notes – just write whatever comes to mind and don’t worry about the practicality of it all. You’re looking to find what your passion in life is at the moment – you can figure out the practicalities once you’ve discovered your passion.
